Ivan Trasiev won first place in Mercedes-Benz Open 2010, playing par on Ian Woosnam Golf Course
Mercedes-Benz Open 2010 golf tournament for amateurs is gaining increasing popularity in Bulgaria. The spring edition of the tournament was held at Pirin Golf & Country Club, Razlog on 29 May 2010.
Ivan Trasiev won first place with the highest gross result-36 points. He is the first amateur / golfer / that played par on Ian Woosnam golf course at Pirin Golf. The special award was Weekend for two at Pirin Golf & Country Club with the support of Mercedes-Benz. Second in the competition was Jean-Mark Rigaill with 32 points and third place was for Ivan Golomeev with 25 points.
Excitement among the guests and participants caused the opportunity that was given to the golfers in partnership with Allianz Bulgaria: a chance to win a brand new Mercedes-Benz E-Class if somebody plays Hole-in-One on the 9th hole (par 3). Unfortunately, nobody succeed to play hole 9 just with one shot, but organizers promised to repeat the competition in the next edition of the tournament .
The attractive prizes, surprised the participants in the golf tournament. The format was Individual Stableford , not just Bulgarian golfers were interested in the competition , there were enthusiastic golfers from different regions in Europe.
62 golfers took part in Mercedes-Benz Open 2010 golf tournament at Pirin Golf & Country Club. Among the participants were the Slovak Ambassador Carol Mistrik and the Czech Ambassador Martin Klepetko. The weather was sunny during the whole day and the participants truly enjoyed the golf play amidst the surroundings of the Pirin Mountain. A possibility to observe the golf play had employees of Actavis and Cabletel who came for a team building in Pirin Golf.
All potential clients of the trade mark were invited to test the new models of Mercedes-Benz. The guests could also feel the excitement of an extreme driving of S-Classe, E-Class….. Pirin Golf & Country Club and Balkan Star organized a golf course” First steps in golf” for the clients of the exclusive brand and admires of the prestige game.
The awarding ceremony was held at the restaurant in the Club House from the Marketing Director of Balkan Star Automotive-Philip Kitov, Executive Director of Balkan Star Automotive- Plamen Mitev, The president of the Golf club, Nikolay Kaloyanov and the Golf Director-Nikolay Stanew.
the highest net result, first in division B was Anton Tushev and Martin Danovski won first place in division C. Special prizes were given to Jimmy Cobb for “Longest Drive” and Robert Henderson for the “Nearest to the pin” (two meters from the hole).
The general representative of Mercedes-Benz for Bulgaria, Balkan Star Automotive, is linked to the golf as an official sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Open tournament, which is held for a third consecutive year. This is a world policy of the German company since 1990, it was an official sponsor and partner of the first professional golf tournament in Germany, Mercedes German Masters.
