Hristo Stoichkov ranked first in Peugeot RCZ Cup at Pirin Golf & Country Club
On August 27th, 2011 Pirin Golf & Country Club hosted the second edition of the golf tournament Peugeot RCZ Cup. The first competition was held last year in 2010, the company of Peugeot will send a team that will represent Bulgaria at the International final in France during 2011 too.
76 golfers took part in the golf tournament, 7 of them were youths between 10 and 18 years old. The format of the competition was Scramble, teams of 2 players with an original concept. 9 of 18 greens on the course ( on every second hole ) were placed 2 flags: white with Peugeot logo and blue one with RCZ logo. The white flag indicates easy hole and the blue flag marks more difficult position of the hole.
The winner of the “ Golden ball’ 94 “, Hristo Stoichkov also took part in the competition, he was a part of the best golf tournament in Bulgaria with the best golfers. The famous football player proved that he is a good golfer too.
The winner in the difficult format RCZ Cup is the team of Ivan Kanazirev and Hristo Stoichkov with the best net Stableford score of 44 points and a better game on the last 9 holes.
“ I am glad that I played that tournament today with the best golfers in Bulgaria. I would like to thank to my partner. You are the future number 1 in golf in Bulgaria. You will win so many trophies…” said Hristo Stoichkov to his team partner Ivan Kanazirev who is an assistant golf teacher at Pirin Golf & Country Club.
Second place was for the team of a father and a daughter: Nevyan Simeonov and Ivana Simeonova with 44 net Stableford points. “ I believe that more young people under 18 years old will win the trophies in the big golf competitions in Bulgaria. The future of that sport depends on the children, on our children.” said Nevyan Simeonov, a member of Pirin Golf & Country Club.
The team of Stefan Kralchev and Jivko Tenev will represent Bulgaria on the International final in France next week, 5th of September 2011. Their teams was qualified for the final with third best net score of 44 Stableford points.
“ It was an honour for us to be part of that competition. With an unusual format- 2 flags on 9 greens. We will represent Bulgaria as a winner on the final in Paris. “ promised Stefan Kralchev on the prize giving ceremony. The team of Emil Markov and Radoslav Rashev won the gross prize in RCZ Cup format.
Ivan Kanazirev , who played in a team with Hristo Stoichkov is only 20 years old, and ivanaSimeonova who was ranked on a second place in only 12 years old. At the end, the team with the best net score in the RCZ Cup and whose players were born in 1990 and before were qualified for the International final- both of the players in the team should be above 21.
